Parhelion trio performs Red-Blue-Very white for flute, clarinet and piano (2019)

In celebration of New Music at Adelphi’s 20th Anniversary, as the featured guest ensemble, Parhelion will present a recital of contemporary classical works for flute, clarinet and piano. Featuring music by Adelphi University composition faculty Sidney Boquiren, Paul Moravec, and Christopher Lyndon-Gee, including a world premiere of a new composition by Sidney Boquiren; alongside trio works by Seong Ae Kim, Lisa Bielawa, and Tonia Ko.

Premiere of Home is…where by Bloomingdale School of Music

Premiere of Home is…where for clarinet, percussion violin and cello commissioned by Bloomingdale School of Music.

For 21 years Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) has maintained a special focus on introducing students (ages 7-17) to composition through their A4TY (Album for the Young) Student Composing Program. The March 8th concert will feature 24 student compositions ranging from solo works for piano to works for small chamber ensembles. The concert will also feature the premiere of a new commissioned work for violin, cello, clarinet and percussion by composer, Seong Ae Kim.

Premiere of "Bay Terrace" for percussion and multimedia

Premiere of Bay Terrace for percussion and multimedia by percussionist Josh Perry

This concert program features new and recent works for solo percussion, interwoven with a variety of live and fixed electronic elements. It presents four pieces created in close collaboration with composers Moon Young Ha, Seong Ae Kim, and Dennis Sullivan. Each work is unique and custom-tailored, beautifully showcasing its own distinct percussion sound palette.
